Latest Title

We are very excited with our first book by another author and have scheduled an Easter release in bookshops around Yorkshire and County Cork in Eire. It is titled Neil's WarOne boy’s story of his evacuation to Ireland at the outbreak of WWII and is available now in paperback at £10.

Six-year old Neil is evacuated from Sheffield to the safety of relatives in Cork in 1939. What he gets up to beggars belief and leads to his deportation back to Britain four years later by order of Prime Minister de Valera. It is a humorous story as you might expect. It also an emotional one with dark undertones. How was this boy involved in the firing of Cork's largest department store in 1942? Was he actually responsible for the sinking of the SS Irish Oak by U-607 in May 1943? You must decide. We believe the book is a classic in the genre of wartime memoires. We also think it is unique in being recalled through hypnosis and told through the eyes of the boy himself.  NEIL'S WAR Details Here

Launch

RoseTintedSpecs Imprint commenced business at Christmas 2009 with the publication of a book of photographs by David Rose entitled Seaside Frolics: Whitstable, Tankerton & Herne Bay. The launch took place at Harbour Books at the pretty harbour town of Whitstable in South-East England. The book is on offer there at £19.95 in paperback (cover price £25) and here, from the publisher, at £22 UK post paid.

RoseTintedSpecs Imprint has also published a thriller by David Rose. Entitled Triad this paperback is available at £10 plus £1.50 UK post and packaging. Triad is a thriller and love story. The background is one of sex-slavery, rogue CIA activity, martial arts and triad business from Brussels to Hong Kong.

"It's a good read I am told!" David says. "It was untouched for years but last Autumn several authors praised it when I put it on-line with a writer's forum. This gave me the incentive to put the finishing touches to it, publish and start the sequel. It also meant I had to shape up RoseTintedSpecs Imprint. This had existed in name since 2002."  TRIAD Details Here

New Site, New Books

This is the web site of RoseTintedSpecs Imprint. We are independent authors and independent publishers. We publish our own books and distribute them through independent book shops. We can distribute through national book stores where they are able to bypass central buying. Quite frankly, we cannot afford the huge mark-up demanded by national distributors (50-60% of the cover price). Our prices would go up and we and our authors would be making pennies only. I have coined the term "fair-trade books" and will talk more about this soon.

You will be able to read generous samples of all our books in flip-book form and order on-line as they become available.

Imprint titles are shown on the Imprint Catalogue page. Book details are on the Book Information page. To buy the books go to the Order Page.

Association of Independent Authors

The AiA launched on the 1st of February 2010 and we are founder members.

"David's pictures are great," said Liz, the bookshop manageress. "We shall feature it in our window and we have no doubt it will be an all-year seller. Local pictures are popular and we don't have enough in book form."  SEASIDE FROLICS Details Here

Other Titles

A companion volume of photographs Caught on Camera! is also available only from our web site. Pictures featured were taken between 1982 and 2009 as far afield as China.

"I have put some of my favourite quirky pictures into this book," David said. "from a Buddhist monk eating chips on Whitstable's East Quay, to a child being fed noodles with chopsticks in Guangdong Province. There are several Whitstable photographs not included in Seaside Frolics. People who know the town may recognise M&Co on the cover [right] before the store opened."  CAUGHT ON CAMERA! Details Here
